The Man, 2015
Theo Frids Hutabarat
Theo's works are uniqe and bold because he paints objects figuratively with layers of reality. In this work, Theo paints himself while painting. It shows a full clothed man holding a charcoal pencil, and a projected image partially highlights the man's body. Theo is not playing the role of a naked man on canvas but rather a smart drafter who implicitly deconstructs himself on canvas.
